Our client is a well established restaurant inspired by Chinese cuisine. The Company is looking for a experienced trade qualified cook and/or chef to prepare and cook quality food, and manage the kitchen in this great CBD location.
Requirements for Cook
- AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training or at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications
Requirements for Chef
- AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma or at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications
You will need extensive knowledge and experience in
- Preparation, seasoning and cooking food to hygiene regulation
- Following recipes and operating kitchen equipment
- Exercising portion control
- Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation
- Demonstrating an understanding of Australian food safety and HACCP
- Stock and inventory control
- Plating and presentation skills
- Demonstration of an extensive variety of culinary techniques
- Ability to train staff as required
About you
- Relevant qualifications in Commercial Cookery
- Relevant experience in a premium restaurant/banquet kitchen
- Enthusiasm and creative approach to providing high-quality cuisine
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays as required within a rotating roster
- Well presented, punctual and reliable
- Be able to help to plan and develop menu's
- Ability to keep your section clean and organised with a good understanding of work flow and structure
- Ability to prioritize and work under pressure
- A passion for quality food and produce
- Own transport required

Salary for Cook: $70,000-$78,000 p.a + superannuation
Salary for Chef: $75,000-$85,000 p.a + superannuation
