- Monitor and control paint manufacturing processes including mixing, dispersion, grinding, thinning, and filling.
- Ensure adherence to formulation recipes, batch sheets, and SOPs.
- Optimize production parameters to improve yield, consistency, and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot production issues related to viscosity, shade variation, drying time, adhesion, and defects.
2. Formulation & Product Development
- Develop and modify formulations for emulsion paints, enamel paints, primers, varnishes, and industrial coatings.
- Select and evaluate raw materials such as resins, pigments, solvents, additives, and fillers.
- Conduct lab trials and scale-up from laboratory to production level.
- Support cost-reduction initiatives through alternative raw materials without compromising quality.
3. Quality Assurance & Testing
- Perform and oversee quality tests such as:
- Viscosity
- Gloss
- Shade matching
- Adhesion
- Drying time
- Coverage & durability
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, customer specifications, and internal quality benchmarks.
- Maintain batch records, COAs, and quality reports.
4. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and solvents.
- Implement and follow HSE policies, MSDS guidelines, and statutory regulations.
- Participate in safety audits and risk assessments.
- Promote environmentally compliant practices (VOC control, waste reduction).
5. Equipment & Maintenance Coordination
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for upkeep of mixers, dispersers, bead mills, reactors, and filling machines.
- Ensure calibration of lab and production equipment.
- Support commissioning of new machinery or process modifications.
6. Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare and maintain SOPs, batch manufacturing records (BMRs), and technical documentation.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with local regulatory bodies and industry standards.
