The Industrial Mandate

Operating within the Senta Bldg at the Sohar Free Zone, Senta Chemical Tech is seeking a Chemical Systems IT Lead to bridge the gap between our industrial processes and enterprise infrastructure. This is a specialized role for a leader who understands that in a chemical environment, technical reliability is a matter of operational safety. You will be responsible for the digital systems that monitor and control our high-stakes production environments in the heart of Sohar’s industrial hub.

Process DNA & Technical Focus

• OT/IT Convergence Governance: Lead the integration of Operational Technology (OT) with enterprise IT systems, ensuring seamless data flow between SCADA/DCS systems and back-end reporting layers.
• Hazardous Environment Compliance: Oversee the deployment and maintenance of ruggedized hardware and communication infrastructure that meets intrinsic safety standards for chemical processing zones.
• System Integrity & Safety Monitoring: Implement high-availability protocols for critical monitoring systems, ensuring 24/7 uptime for leak detection, pressure regulation, and environmental compliance sensors.
• Industrial Cybersecurity: Establish and audit air-gapped networks and secure access controls to protect sensitive chemical formulations and industrial control systems from digital threats.

Candidate DNA

• Professional Foundation: 7+ years of experience in IT systems management, with at least 3 years specifically within a chemical, petrochemical, or heavy industrial manufacturing setting.
• Technical Stack: Expertise in industrial communication protocols (Profibus, Modbus, OPC UA) and experience managing Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Linguistic Precision: Advanced C2-level proficiency in professional English is mandatory for technical safety documentation and international vendor management.
• Safety Briefings: Proficiency in using Loom to record system safety walkthroughs and emergency technical protocols for on-site operators.
