Job Title: Chemist

Location: Arizona

I am currently partnered exclusively with a Personal Care Contract Manufacturer, based in Arizona.

We are in search for a R&D Chemist. In this role you will be responsible for creative and technical aspects of specific product development categories.

Essential requirements

• 1-3 years minimum Personal Care Contract Manufacturing experience - haircare, skincare, cosmetics, body care admirable.
• Bachelors/Masters in Chemistry, Biology or related field of Science.
• If relocating, must be based in the USA.

Responsibilities

• Develop/refine haircare, skincare, cosmetics, body care and other Personal Care formulations.
• Complete tasks as directed, adhere to clear instructions.
• Functions with moderate supervision.
• Ability to interpret, analyze, reason, and plan effectively.
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to excel in product formulations while meeting cost demands.
• Advanced writing, reading, and math skills including statistical analysis (college level and beyond). Must be able to think logically, multitask, assess, and adjust priorities, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures, testing instrumentation, and experimental design and controls.
• Keep accurate documentation of laboratory work, especially lab notebooks, ensuring regulatory and corporate compliance for formula development.
• Ability to follow cGMP and GLP guidelines.
• Generate ingredient decks, technical information, and product specifications.
• Must be flexible, and able to handle multiple projects with a can-do positive attitude.
• Identify raw materials and technologies suitable for product development.
• Work cross functionally with marketing, product development, analytical testing facilities, process development and manufacturing.
• Collaborate with clients to understand project needs, provide technical expertise, and translate their requirements into successful product formulations.
