This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. This temporary position is located in 4312 District Drive Raleigh - Wake County .


Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $36 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application) .

Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants.

This position is assigned to the Department of Health and Human Services.

This position is a members of the CDC's Laboratory Response Network for Chemical Agents (LRN-C). This position (and two others) work closely with Federal, State, and Local partners to identify hazards and mitigate risks. This position routinely evaluates, validates, and implements cutting-edge technologies to rapidly detect chemical threats, toxins, and weapons of mass destruction that could cause citizen fatality, if they are left undetected. This position is one of 3 on-call that ensure 24/7/365 coverage for response when
needed.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of progressive chemistry laboratory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
