Responsibilities
- JOB PURPOSE: To ensure all manufactured products meet specified PepsiCo- and regulatory standards in terms of specification and food safety compliance; ensure non-conforming finished products, ingredients, packaging materials and raw materials are not released. All PepsiCo Quality and Food Safety system standards are implemented, monitored, audit targets achieved, and relevant plant safety requirements are met.
- Principal Accountabilities: To conduct daily analysis on finished products, incoming raw and packaging materials and ensure that only conforming FGRMPM are released and non-conforming ones are isolated and held for further action per Quality Policy and Procedures.
- Participate in inspection visits by regulatory authorities and support addressing issues and concerns.
- Ensure GMP is followed by plant personnel and raise relevant issues during the shift.
- Participate in monthly Food safety audit and support in implementing FS standards and audit findings.
- Meet relevant safety requirements such as Near Miss, chemical management and support implementation of other EHS standards.
- Sustain a safe work environment in labs by adhering to Safe Working Procedures and maintaining high housekeeping standards in line with 5S.
- Attend sensory evaluation tests during shift including review process and packaging performance; follow up on hourly performance from previous sensory evaluation findings (the "Hot and mini walls").
- Monitor production operator's product analysis and evaluation both in process and packaging; take action if necessary and enter results in SPC sheet and weak link.
- Communicate results of acceptance and rejections of RMPM to concerned functions, issue reports and action decisions through SAP.
- Take immediate action in case of noncompliance noticed during analysis and line monitoring by initiating relevant Hold/Release and coordinating with concerned leaders for inspection and action, including completion of CAPA.
- Coordinate corrective action with the concerned team leaders if required.
- Carry out monthly and quarterly in-market evaluation of finished products, including CQA and PQMd samples.
- Participate in internal and external proficiency tests and complaint investigations with follow-up corrective actions.
- Maintain laboratory area and equipment in good working and tidy condition; ensure safety requirements and calibration status of lab instruments.
- Support developmental activities/projects relevant to the function.
- Ensure GMP is followed by plant personnel and raise relevant issues during the shift.
- Support in implementing IPS, Food Safety, Lab and Quality standards and follow-up audit findings.
- Authority to accept conforming materials; authority to hold or reject non-conforming materials and products.
- Manage shift activities independently; authority to enforce GMP and stop lines in case of critical non-conformity.
- Train colleagues and disseminate knowledge through internal and external trainings.
- Verify production and warehouses concerns related to quality and communicate result (on-line rejection / warehouse unloading rejection).
- Implement, sustain and participate in continual improvement of the OH&S Management System in accordance with legislation, PepsiCo GEHSMS and relevant EHS standards, ensuring proper controls for hazards and risks and OH&S targets are achieved.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in science (preferably in chemistry or Food Science).
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Good computer skills with strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience: Newly graduated candidates may apply; however, experience as chemists in a food manufacturing plant with knowledge of lab instruments and Quality systems such as ISO is preferred.
