Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating innovative instructional strategies and learning technology tools.
  • Teach a diverse range of chemistry topics, including organic chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, and laboratory techniques such as dissection and microbiology.
  • Design assessments, administer standardized tests, and provide constructive feedback to monitor student progress and achievement.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment that encourages participation and collaboration.
  • Mentor students through academic advising, tutoring sessions, and research projects to enhance their understanding of scientific principles.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and integrating new educational resources.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance while ensuring compliance with school policies and standards.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of chemistry disciplines including organic chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, and related sciences.
  • Proficiency in mathematics topics such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, differential equations, and discrete math to support interdisciplinary teaching.
  • Experience with laboratory research techniques, safety protocols, dissection procedures, and science equipment maintenance.
  • Skilled in classroom management strategies to foster an engaging learning environment for students of varying abilities.
  • Familiarity with educational technology platforms for lesson planning, instructional delivery, and student assessment.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective instruction, mentoring students, and collaborating with colleagues.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods for special education needs.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: Up to $55,000.00 per year
