Job Title: Chief Accountant

Job Summary
The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing the organization’s accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role supervises the accounting team and supports senior management with financial insights for strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and local regulations
- Manage statutory filings, tax returns, and audits
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory authorities
2. General Ledger & Accounting Operations
- Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
- Review journal entries, reconciliations, and closing processes
- Ensure accuracy of financial data and documentation
- Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
3. Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Assist in preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
- Monitor actual performance against budgets
- Provide variance analysis and financial insights to management
4. Internal Controls & Risk Management
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures
- Strengthen internal control systems
- Ensure proper cash flow management
- Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies
5. Team Management
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff
- Assign tasks and review performance
- Ensure continuous training and development
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA / CA / ACCA or equivalent professional certification (preferred)
- 5–10+ years of accounting experience, with leadership responsibility
- Strong knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems
- In-depth understanding of tax laws and financial regulations
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: Up to BD300.000 per month
