Chief Accountant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Chief Accountant to lead and manage our accounting department. The Chief Accountant will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and supporting strategic financial planning. This role requires strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills to drive accuracy and efficiency across all financial activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards.
• Monitor and analyze accounting data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, providing variance analysis and recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and manage all tax-related activities including filings, audits, and planning.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and implement improvements based on audit findings.
• Develop and enforce internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and performance evaluations.
• Collaborate with senior management to support business decisions with financial insights.
• Keep updated with industry trends, accounting regulations, and best practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Professional certification such as CPA, CA, CMA, or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Minimum 12 years of progressive accounting experience, including 5 years in a leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• High level of integrity and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of financial modeling and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
