Job Summary:


The GL Chief Accountant oversees the day-to-day operations of the general ledger function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in line with applicable accounting standards and company policies. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity of financial records, especially for real estate assets, development projects, and related entities.


Responsibilities are not limited to:


  • Supervise the preparation and posting of general ledger entries, ensuring accurate classification and documentation.
  • Review and approve journal entries, accruals, and reclassifications.
  • Ensure the ERP system is updated accurately and on time.
  • Ensure all monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities are completed on time and accurately.
  • Coordinate intercompany reconciliations and ensure proper elimination of transactions for group reporting.
  • Monitor and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Ensure timely capitalization and depreciation of fixed assets.
  • Collaborate with accounts payable/receivable and treasury teams for smooth data integration.
  • Prepare and review trial balances and lead schedules.
  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS on a standalone and consolidated basis.
  • Handle all internal and external auditors’ requirements.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior role, preferably in the real estate or construction sector.
  • Work experience with one of the Big Four Audit firms is a plus.
  • Knowledge and practical experience in the real estate closed investment funds.
  • Certification in any of (CPA, ACCA, IFRS) is mandatory.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
