OVERVIEW
At Rosewood Red Sea, the Chief Butler is responsible for leading the Butler Service operation, ensuring the delivery of exceptional, personalized, and seamless service across villas, suites, and designated guest areas. This role is central to curating highly tailored guest experiences, anticipating individual needs, and ensuring every detail is executed with precision, discretion, and consistency.
The Chief Butler will lead the Butler team in delivering refined service aligned with Rosewood’s luxury standards, while working closely with Housekeeping, Front Office, Concierge, Food & Beverage, Spa, Laundry, Engineering, and Florist to ensure all guest preferences, arrangements, and service expectations are met to the highest standard.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the Butler Service operation to ensure exceptional, personalized, and anticipatory service delivery.
- Oversee Butler operations across villas, suites, and designated guest areas.
- Ensure all villas and suites are inspected prior to arrival and meet presentation and service standards.
- Coordinate amenities, welcome arrangements, flowers, fruit, and special setups to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
- Ensure guest preferences, profiles, and service history are recorded accurately and followed consistently.
- Maintain close coordination with Housekeeping, Front Office, Concierge, Food & Beverage, Spa, Laundry, Engineering, and Florist to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Oversee room readiness and follow up on special requests, celebrations, and VIP arrangements.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and handle service issues or complaints promptly and professionally.
- Ensure the Butler program is delivered in line with approved procedures and company standards.
- Maintain operational logs, guest requests, service records, and follow-up items accurately.
- Oversee guest supplies, amenities, and special request items required for Butler operations.
- Ensure resort buggies used by the Butler team are operated safely, maintained properly, and presented to standard.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and coverage in line with occupancy, villa count, and guest requirements.
- Monitor departmental resources and stock levels to support efficiency and control wastage.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Butler team to ensure high service standards and strong team performance.
- Conduct daily briefings, training sessions, and performance follow-up with the team.
- Review and update Butler SOPs and working procedures where required.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and service excellence within the department.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Butler operations, luxury guest services, or Front of House operations, with at least 2- 3 years in a leadership role.
- Previous experience in a luxury or ultra-luxury resort, hotel, or branded residence environment is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of villa and suite service, guest personalization, and luxury service delivery.
- Proven ability to lead and develop a Butler team in a high-service environment.
- Strong operational knowledge of guest preferences, room readiness, amenities coordination, and service sequencing.
- Experience coordinating closely with Housekeeping, Front Office, Food & Beverage, and other operational departments.
- Pre-opening experience is an advantage.
- Strong leadership, training, and coaching skills.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle VIP guests, special requests, and service recovery with confidence and care.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
