Chief Development Officer

notMYkid seeks a mission-driven Chief Development Officer to lead and grow all fundraising streams including major gifts, individual giving, foundation and corporate grants, and high-impact signature events. The CDO will set strategy, coach a small-but-mighty team, and partner closely with the CEO and Board to tell our story, mobilize champions, and meet ambitious revenue goals. Success looks like a healthy pipeline and stewardship culture, strong donor retention year over year, energized current supporters, and a steady flow of new, qualified prospects discovering our work. The ideal leader is a compelling storyteller and relationship builder who can translate our mission into clear cases for support, steward major donors with care, manage a disciplined grants and events calendar, and use data/CRM insights to drive decisions. Compensation: This role includes a competitive base salary plus performance-based incentives. Incentives are tied to clearly defined outcomes.

Outcome Based Responsibilities

  • Increase annual fundraising beyond the current ~$3.5M baseline, delivering sustained year-over-year growth through a diversified mix of major gifts, individual giving, grants, and signature events.
  • Strengthen donor engagement by implementing effective stewardship strategies, resulting in increased renewal rates, higher average gift sizes, and expanded major donor relationships.
  • Expand visibility and support beyond Arizona by leading integrated marketing and communications, executing meaningful donor recognition, and running targeted campaigns that build national awareness, attract new supporters, and showcase measurable impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 6 years of fundraising and development experience - OR-
  • 8 years of experience in fundraising and development with a proven track record.

Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of and experience using a donor development system to track cultivation and solicitation activity and report program performance.
  • Demonstrated success in securing major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and grants.
  • Strong event planning and project management skills with attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to execute plans, manage budgets, and track performance.
  • Commitment to the mission of notMYkid and the ability to build authentic, respectful relationships.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
