II. ROLE PURPOSE & OBJECTIVE


  • Develop and articulate the company's overall strategic direction and vision.
  • Conduct in-depth market and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities and potential threats.
  • Focus on growth, diversification and achieving scale as the bank transitions from a SFB to a Universal Bank.
  • Craft bank’s unique value proposition, oversee strategic initiatives and ensure alignment with long term goals of the bank.
  • Work with leadership team to address the market dynamics, emerging trends and evolving customer needs.
  • Identify and evaluate strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and business development opportunities.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators to measure the success of strategic initiatives.

IV. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE


Business/ Financials

  • Develop a robust strategic roadmap to guide the bank in its transformation to a universal bank, focusing on growth across different business verticals.

  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships and acquisition targets that will allow the bank to diversify its revenue streams and scale operations across the regions.

  • Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities and potential threats

  • Analyze industry trends, best practices and competitive landscape to guide strategic thinking and decisions.

  • Forge strategic partnerships to integrate innovative lending and payment solutions, expanding the bank’s reach and product offerings.

  • Collaborate extensively internally to ensure the Bank’s strategy is effectively structured and embedded so that teams and colleagues know how they contribute to the Bank’s overall objectives.

  • Provide trusted advice and insight to the Executive team and the Board on emerging market trends and policy developments, including how they could impact or be exploited.

  • Collaborate effectively with the CFO and Finance team to ensure robust monitoring and reporting of the Bank’s progress against its objectives.

Customer (Both Internal & External)

  • Build and maintain strong, mutually beneficial partnerships with key policymakers and stakeholders across the market and the wider finance ecosystem to support the Bank in fulfilling its mission and objectives.

  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including board members, partners, investors and customers.

  • Provide feedback on required analyses to advance solution development and to support execution of strategic initiatives.

  • Communicate well-structured, data-driven and clearly articulated points-of-view to influence and meet stakeholders’ expectations.

  • Study customer segments and work with Businesses to identify new products and services or recommend changes to current offerings

Internal Process

  • Oversee the bank’s strategic planning cycle, ensuring alignment with the organization’s goal of becoming a universal bank.

  • Continuously create, develop and execute strategic plans that advance the mission of the organization.

  • Develop performance management frameworks to monitor strategic initiatives across business verticals, ensuring timely and effective execution.

  • Establish governance frameworks for innovation-led projects, ensuring that all new initiatives are monitored for success and aligned with the bank’s strategic priorities.

  • Analyze risks and complex issues to provide strategic guidance & efficient solutions.

  • Work closely with the Financial Planning and Analytics team on Budgeting and P&L strategies of the bank

Innovation & Learning

  • Promote a culture of innovation across the bank by encouraging teams to develop creative solutions for business challenges.

  • Responsible for product research and driving innovations as a part of the product strategy in ensuring the company is ready to capture emerging and future consumer demands.

  • Providing and guiding team members to foster professional growth whilst promoting culture of accountability.

  • Build a culture of continuous learning within the strategy team and across the bank, ensuring that best practices are applied.


V. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS



Educational
Qualifications

MBA from a reputed institution, preferably with a specialization in Strategy, Finance or Business Development.



Experience (Years and Core Experience Type)

25+ years of Experience with Strategy & Leadership preferably in the banking sector with a proven track record in executing growth strategies



Certifications

Certifications in Strategic Planning, Digital Transformation or Business Analytics will be advantageous
