Chief Engineer-Roads Construction (Civil Engineering)

Job Purpose:

To supervise and evaluate the design and construction of highway and internal road projects, ensuring compliance with technical standards, quality requirements, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee road construction projects from initiation to handover, ensuring delivery within scope, time, and quality standards
• Monitor project progress, perform schedule variance analysis, and recommend corrective actions for delays
• Review and evaluate designs, drawings, and traffic diversion plans for road projects
• Ensure compliance with specifications, materials standards, and QA/QC procedures during all project phases
• Conduct site inspections to monitor construction quality, safety, and progress
• Manage project risks, maintain risk registers, and implement mitigation plans
• Coordinate with internal departments, government entities, consultants, and contractors
• Lead project meetings, define communication plans, and ensure proper reporting and documentation
• Oversee project handover processes, including inspections, snag lists, and Defect Notification Period (DNP) follow-up
• Ensure adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and information security requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Minimum 8 years of experience in roads/highways construction and project management
