Chief Engineer, Ropeways (m/f/d)

The Chief Engineer, Ropeways is the primary person responsible for the execution and approval of technical reviews, inspections, audits, and consultation for ropeway and ropeway systems such as ski lifts, urban transport systems, etc.

Your Tasks


  • Perform reviews of the technical documents for new and existing ropeway systems in North America
  • Inspect, assess, and evaluate products for conformity with national and international regulations with the result being a Certificate, and/or Technical Report for the client.
  • Provide expert analysis and consultation at the initial stage of projects.
  • Coordinate global and regional resources according to client’s requirements.
  • Provide cross-utilization expertise to Amusement Rides projects as appropriate.
  • Inspect, assess, and evaluate products for conformity with national and international standards (ANSI B77)
  • Prepare and/or review reports and documentation of customer reviews, audits, and inspections to the appropriate standards.
  • Function as an internal advocate for the business segment(s) to ensure inbound sales, management, and experts are aware of the specific needs and nuances of the industry.


Your Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical field / STEM
  • 10+ years of ropeway experience
  • Subject matter expert with standards in the Ropeways industry including ANSI B77
  • Knowledge of Amusement Ride Standards and Practices (ASTM F24 committee standards, EN Standards, ISO Standards).

Additional Information


  • Full-time position with travel requirements of 50% or more with possible international travel with advanced notice
  • Reports to Director, Amusement Rides, Waterparks, and Ropeways
  • Role includes technical leadership and mentoring responsibilities and opportunities.
