Highland Valley Elder Services is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead our Fiscal Department. Opportunity for a seasoned finance professional with at least 5-10 years broad finance experience. Highland Valley is seeking someone with experience managing finance (accounting, budgeting, payroll and reporting) for a nonprofit with multiple funding sources including government (federal and state) contracts and an affiliate structure with diverse program areas.

This position does require in office work based in Florence MA

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
  • Oversee cash, investment, and asset management.
  • Oversee financing strategies and activities, as well as banking relationships.
  • Develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial analyses to provide Coordinate, develop and monitor agency-wide and program budgets.
  • Develop financial business plans and forecasts.
  • Participate in policy development as a member of the senior leadership team.
  • Engage the Finance Committee of the board of directors to develop short-, medium-, and long-term financial plans and projections.
  • Represent the company with financial institutions, auditors, investment management firm and funding sources.
  • Remain up to date on nonprofit audit best practices and state and federal law regarding nonprofit and payroll operations.
  • Oversee the Accounting and Payroll functions to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting and payroll systems and function; supervise fiscal staff.
  • Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures.
  • Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting for federal and state funding sources, other funding sources such as CDBG awards and the agency’s finance committee and board of directors; prepare and issue monthly financial statements.
  • Coordinate audits and proper filing of nonprofit and payroll tax returns and annual audited financial statements.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $130,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
