Since 2009, we have originated more than $4 billion in hard money loans through our bridge, acquisition, and construction loan programs for land, residential, and commercial real estate investments.

As we continue to scale the platform, we are seeking an accomplished Chief Financial Officer to lead our financial strategy, accounting and finance function, and partner with executive leadership to drive the next phase of growth.

The CFO is the senior financial leader of Capital Fund I, responsible for the overall financial health, capital strategy, and finance operations of the firm. Reporting to the President, the CFO partners with executive leadership to shape long-term strategy, leads all accounting and finance reporting, and builds the systems, people, and processes required to support continued growth. This role sits at the intersection of strategic finance, accounting, capital markets, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the executive team, providing financial insight and analysis to inform key business decisions.
  • Lead long-range financial planning, annual budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis across the loan portfolio and operating entities.
  • Evaluate return on capital across bridge, acquisition, and construction loan programs; recommend allocation strategies that optimize portfolio performance.
  • Develop and maintain the firm's financial KPIs, dashboards, and management reporting to drive accountability and visibility across the organization.
  • Lead the evaluation and financial diligence for new markets, products, and strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with leadership on capital raising initiatives and ongoing capital formation strategy.
  • Own investor-facing financial reporting, including fund-level performance reporting and K-1 coordination.
  • Coordinate with legal and tax advisors on fund structuring, entity formation, and capital raising compliance.
  • Represent the firm credibly in investor, lender, and partner discussions.
  • Oversee treasury and cash management functions, including daily cash positioning, liquidity forecasting, and optimization of cash across operating and fund entities.
  • Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, and debt covenants; ensure adequate liquidity to support loan origination volume and operational needs.
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate monthly financial reporting and the disbursement of funds to investors by the 10th of the following month.
  • Own the integrity of multi-entity consolidated financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Stay current with changes in accounting standards; research and advise executive leadership on implementation strategies.
  • Coordinate annual audits across all entities and manage external audit and tax advisor relationships.
  • Design, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Lead technology-enabled modernization of accounting and finance operations, including ERP, reporting, and analytics platforms.
  • Champion process improvement, automation, and the use of AI tools to drive efficiency and enable real-time, data-driven decision-making.
  • Partner with IT and Operations to integrate financial systems across loan servicing, origination, and corporate accounting.
  • Streamline workflows to reduce manual effort, strengthen controls, and scale the finance function as the business grows.
  • Build, lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting and finance team.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, career development paths, and a culture of accountability and ownership.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-integrity working environment aligned with the Capital Fund I values.
  • Serve as a trusted resource across the organization on complex financial and operational matters.
  • Act as the senior financial steward of the organization; report regularly to the CEO, executive leadership, and (as applicable) the Board of Advisors on financial health and strategic performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable financial, tax, and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions in which Capital Fund I operates.
  • Lead risk assessment and mitigation efforts tied to financial reporting, internal controls, and capital deployment.
