We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our organization’s financial planning, management, and reporting efforts. Duties
- Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies aligned with organizational objectives to foster growth and sustainability
- Oversee all aspects of financial management including budgeting, forecasting, and expense control to optimize resource allocation
- Oversee accounting operations, audits, compliance, and internal controls
- Provide executive leadership with financial insights and strategic recommendations
- Manage cash flow, capital planning, and risk management strategies
- Manage the annual external audit process and prepare the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) or equivalent
- Lead mergers & acquisitions initiatives by conducting market analysis, financial due diligence, valuation assessments, and integration planning
- Prepare clear, detailed financial reports for internal leadership and external stakeholders; interpret complex financial data to inform strategic decisions
- Manage audit processes and maintain robust internal controls to ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards and organizational policies
- Support business growth initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, and investment decisions when applicable
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration, or closely related field
- 8–15+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting leadership roles
- Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role (CFO, VP of Finance, Director of Finance, or equivalent)
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, active and in good standing
- Extensive knowledge of corporate finance concepts including profit & loss analysis, cost control, budget development, and fiscal management
- Proven experience managing external audits and producing financial reports in compliance with government standards
- Strong expertise in technical accounting standards such as GAAP, IFRS, IAS, ASC 606 for revenue recognition, and COSO frameworks for internal controls
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to manage, motivate, and develop professional staff
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial audiences
- Proficiency in financial modeling software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems; familiarity with governmental accounting practices is a plus
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial reports and conduct risk assessments effectively
- Experience leading mergers & acquisitions from due diligence through integration; excellent negotiation skills are essential
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic plans that align with organizational goals while managing risk effectively
