Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our organization’s financial planning, management, and reporting efforts. Duties

• Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies aligned with organizational objectives to foster growth and sustainability
• Oversee all aspects of financial management including budgeting, forecasting, and expense control to optimize resource allocation
• Oversee accounting operations, audits, compliance, and internal controls
• Provide executive leadership with financial insights and strategic recommendations
• Manage cash flow, capital planning, and risk management strategies
• Manage the annual external audit process and prepare the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) or equivalent
• Lead mergers & acquisitions initiatives by conducting market analysis, financial due diligence, valuation assessments, and integration planning
• Prepare clear, detailed financial reports for internal leadership and external stakeholders; interpret complex financial data to inform strategic decisions
• Manage audit processes and maintain robust internal controls to ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards and organizational policies
• Support business growth initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, and investment decisions when applicable

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration, or closely related field
• 8–15+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting leadership roles
• Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role (CFO, VP of Finance, Director of Finance, or equivalent)
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, active and in good standing
• Extensive knowledge of corporate finance concepts including profit & loss analysis, cost control, budget development, and fiscal management
• Proven experience managing external audits and producing financial reports in compliance with government standards
• Strong expertise in technical accounting standards such as GAAP, IFRS, IAS, ASC 606 for revenue recognition, and COSO frameworks for internal controls
• Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to manage, motivate, and develop professional staff
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial audiences
• Proficiency in financial modeling software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems; familiarity with governmental accounting practices is a plus
• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial reports and conduct risk assessments effectively
• Experience leading mergers & acquisitions from due diligence through integration; excellent negotiation skills are essential
• Demonstrated ability to develop strategic plans that align with organizational goals while managing risk effectively
