Chief of Finance

Full-time – Milwaukie, Oregon (In-Person)

Are you a sharp, detail-loving finance pro who enjoys working with a great team? Do you like solving problems, keeping things organized, and helping a company grow in smart, sustainable ways? If so, you might be the perfect fit for our crew!

Who We Are

The Crawlspace Crew helps homeowners with remediation work after animal, water, or fire damage—usually in crawl spaces, attics, and basements.

We’re a hardworking, friendly bunch who care about what we do and how we do it. Our culture is honest, supportive, and built on doing right by our customers and each other.

Here’s what we’re all about:

Our Purpose: To deliver help when people need it most.

Our Mission: We protect and save the things that matter most to our customers.

Our Vision: A world that knows every space can be crawled!

About the Role

As our Chief of Finance, you’ll be our go-to person for all things money-related. From keeping our books clean and organized, to helping us plan for the future, you’ll play a key role in making sure The Crawlspace Crew runs smoothly and grows wisely.

You’ll handle day-to-day financial operations, make sure we’re in good shape with taxes and payroll, and work with the leadership team on bigger-picture strategies. You’ll also help manage our company vehicles and equipment—making sure they’re insured, maintained, and accounted for.

We’re looking for someone who’s great with numbers and great with people. Someone who likes making processes better, isn’t afraid to take the lead, and thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Daily finance & admin tasks:

  • Sending invoices and tracking payments
  • Following up on unpaid invoices (collections)
  • Paying bills and keeping our books up to date
  • Handling payroll, including taxes and withholdings
  • Managing worker’s comp reporting
  • Reconciling QuickBooks and bank accounts

Tax, compliance, and reporting:

  • Making sure we stay current on tax payments and filings (with help from our tax firm as needed)
  • Overseeing audits and preparing financial reports for the team
  • Watching for risks or trends that could affect the business

Asset & equipment management:

  • Keeping track of our vehicles, equipment, and other big-ticket items
  • Making sure vehicle insurance is active and up to date
  • Scheduling maintenance to keep everything running smoothly

Big-picture planning:

  • Helping build and manage our company budget
  • Advising leadership on smart investments and ways to cut waste
  • Making sure we’re on solid financial footing and growing in the right direction

What We’re Looking For

  • Financial know-how. You’ve got a solid background in finance, accounting, or similar fields—and plenty of real-world experience.
  • Eye for detail. You’re comfortable with numbers, patterns, and spreadsheets. You like to dig into the data and find what matters.
  • Tech comfort. You know your way around QuickBooks, payroll tools, Google Suite, and banking systems. Bonus if you’ve worked with sales or CRM platforms too.
  • People skills. You enjoy talking to others, sharing what you know, and working as part of a team.
  • Leadership chops. You’ve led teams or departments before and know how to keep things running while making them better.
  • A willingness to learn. Whether it’s a new system, a new law, or a new crawlspace adventure—you’re up for it.
  • Local roots (or soon-to-be). You’re in the Milwaukie, Oregon area or planning to move here soon.

Pay & Benefits

  • $60,000/year while training, $80,000/year after training
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Bi-yearly bonus opportunities

This is a full-time, salaried position, usually working Monday–Friday. Like most leadership roles, it can go over 40 hours a week—especially during busy times—but we do our best to keep things balanced.
