Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead and oversee end-to-end marine operations.

The COO will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, cost efficiency, fleet/port operations management, and business growth across marine services.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Operations & StrategyLead daily marine operations including vessel management, port operations, logistics, and offshore services

Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with business goals

Ensure smooth coordination between technical, commercial, crewing, and safety teams

Fleet & Technical Management

Oversee vessel deployment, maintenance, dry-docking, and technical performance

Ensure compliance with statutory marine regulations, class requirements, and flag state rules

Monitor fuel efficiency, voyage performance, and asset utilization

Safety, Compliance & Quality

Ensure strict adherence to ISM Code, ISPS Code, MARPOL, SOLAS, and local maritime lawsImplement and monitor HSE policies and safety management systems

Conduct audits, inspections, and corrective action plans

Financial & Commercial OversightManage operational budgets, cost control, and profitability

Support commercial negotiations, chartering contracts, and vendor management

Review operational KPIs and MIS reportsPeople & Leadership

Lead and mentor operations, technical, and marine personnel

Coordinate with HR for crew planning, training, and performance management

Build a high-performance, safety-driven cultureStakeholder & Client Management

Act as a key liaison with port authorities, clients, classification societies, and regulators

Handle escalations related to operations, safety, and compliance

Qualifications & Experience Master Mariner / Chief Engineer / MBA / BE (Marine / Mechanical / Naval Architecture preferred)

15+ years of experience in marine operations, shipping, offshore, or port services

5+ years in a senior leadership or operational head role

Strong understanding of maritime laws, vessel operations, and offshore logistics

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong leadership and decision-making skills

In-depth knowledge of marine operations & compliance

Financial acumen and operational budgeting skills

Excellent communication and stakeholder management

Crisis management and problem-solving abilities

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to ₹5,000,000.00 per month
