Chief Operating Officer (Mining Trade)

For our global client, we are seeking a Chief Operating Officer to serve as their first anchor in Türkiye — a pivotal role responsible for building trade corridors, managing government and institutional relations, and laying the foundation for future local operations.

This position combines deal origination, stakeholder engagement, and operational execution, with a clear growth path toward becoming a shareholder.

Job Description:

• Identify and secure mining, trade, and investment opportunities (copper, lithium, chrome, manganese, cobalt and others).
• Negotiate off-take, JV, and supply agreements with manufacturers, mining companies, traders and buyers.
• Engage with ministries, mining and trade authorities, and regulators to secure approvals, concessions and export licenses.
• Represent the company in high-level institutional and governmental discussions.
• Oversee logistics chains from mine to port and customer (trucking, rail, warehousing).
• Ensure compliance with local laws, environmental standards, and export regulations.
• Map and engage key stakeholders across mining, trade, logistics, and finance.
• Position the company as a trusted partner in Türkiye’s industrial and economic development.
• Collaborate with global headquarter to establish the company’s legal and operational presence in Türkiye.
• Transition to Shareholder with defined equity participation.

Requirements:

• University degree
• Advanced level of English, both written and spoken
• Proven background in mining, trade, logistics, or government relations.
• Strong local network within mining companies, traders, and logistics operators
• Experience structuring mineral trade deals (e.g., LME-linked pricing, CIF/FOB contracts)
• A highly respected, independent, and proactive professional with a strong entrepreneurial mindset.
• Capable of operating as the first local anchor, later building and leading a national team.
