Chief Senior Engineer - Transportation Policies

JOB PURPOSE:

Perform professional specialized transportation policy tasks and studies and participate in developing and updating transportation policies, plans and systems for Dubai Emirate.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Provide ongoing assistance to section manager regarding transport policy, planning and legislation.
• Analyze, prepares and presents technical transport policy information and reports to a variety of audiences.
• Identify various transportation issues and problems and suggest transport policies that can contribute to solving these problems,
• Draft terms of reference for transport policies studies "as needed” and follow up the implementation of these studies.
• Manage transportation policy studies conducted by others and make sure of aligning the results to Dubai strategic transportation plan.
• Conduct international benchmarking and studies related to different transportation policies in Dubai, develop and present solutions as needed.
• Conduct specialized internal transport policies studies and prepare technical reports/presentations on different issues related to the transportation system in Dubai and between Dubai and the neighboring emirates.
• Participate in identification, evaluation and selection of appropriate transport policies taking into account RTA strategies and goals.
• Participate in deriving and updating Dubai wide multimodal sustainable transportation system plan that can support the emirate growth requirements.
• Analyze the results and issues raised by RTA entities that monitor the implementation of transportation policies and recommend required countermeasures.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with the position as appropriate.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/architectural engineering/transportation planning/urban planning or equivalent from an accredited university
• Master’s degree in urban planning/Transportation Planning (preferred)
• Minimum of 11 years of relevant working experience.
