Chief Specialist - Corporate Health, Safety & Sustainability

Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

Govern and provide strategic and technical support to the Sustainability function in RTA, which corresponds to the related strategic goals/objectives and directions from Higher Management in line with the Local/Federal Directions , through prepare and develop systems, policies, and processes to monitor and enhance Sustainability performance in RTA.

Key Accountabilities & Decision-making

• Support and implementation of Dubai’s Government Excellence Programmes as per the Management directions
• Provide technical advice to internal and external stakeholders in relation to sustainability areas
• Perform other responsibilities associated with the position as appropriate
• Systematic capturing, documenting and analysis of results to develop analytics and reports to identify improvement areas in Sustainability
• Identify Sustainability requirements and priorities with stakeholders and manage the performance
• Identifying the best practices and benchmarking for areas related to sustainability and provide recommendations for adoption in RTA
• Analyze sustainability results and ensure result-based management and work planning to improve strategic plans and processes related to Sustainability
• Ensure compliance to Sustainability requirements through third party assessments/audits as per Management directions
• Participate and support in the internal/external audits and assessments
• Establish a process for evaluating and updating legal and other requirements of Sustainability and conduct compliance evaluation
• Identify opportunities and support promoting Sustainability across RTA
• Prepare, develop, and updating sustainability strategies and plans and advise in formulating with stakeholders
• Prepare & update policies & processes and Develop & maintain, and continually improve the sustainability management system in RTA
• Set objectives and targets in line with RTA Sustainability Policies and Strategies and introduce indicators to measure performance and efficiency
• Ensure RTA’s sustainability management system alignment with local / federal government strategic directions by conduct audits
• Identify risks, improvements and opportunities related to sustainability and provide recommendations to the management
• Prepare and develop the sustainability performance reports and the RTA’s annual sustainability report and encourage transparency and accountability
  
  

Qualifications

EDUCATION

• Bachelor or Master of Engineering in Electrical/Chemical/Renewable Energy/Mechanical OR Bachelor of Science from a recognized university
• Preferred to have professional certification from International Accredited Institutes
• 11+ years of working experience in the relevant field, preferred in related areas of Green Economy/Energy/Environment Management/Sustainability Management
