We are looking for a
Chief Surveyor
to lead surveying operations, ensure accurate geospatial data management, and support safe, complaint, and efficient mining activities across our sites.
Key Responsibilities

Lead, coordinate, and develop the surveying team, including training and capability building.

Oversee and manage all field and office-based surveying, mapping, and measurement activities.

Ensure preparation, review, and approval of mine layouts, infrastructure, haul roads, dump sites, and site development designs.

Supervise the preparation, control, and submission of statutory maps and reports, including annual production maps and official submissions to authorities.

Manage surveying support for mine planning, dewatering projects, rehabilitation works, and infrastructure applications.

Coordinate and control boundary management for permits, licenses, EIA areas, and expropriation projects.

Review and validate volume, block ore, slope stability, and dump capacity calculations.

Oversee the preparation and update of SEVESO maps, site traffic flow plans, security layouts, and infrastructure records.

Ensure surveying equipment maintenance, calibration, and data accuracy standards are maintained.

Monitor contractor progress, monthly reporting, and entitlement calculations.

Contribute to Business Improvement (BI) initiatives and continuous improvement processes.
Required Knowledge & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum 10 years of professional experience in surveying, preferably within mining and large-scale infrastructure projects.

Strong leadership, coordination, and team management capabilities.

Proven experience in mining and infrastructure surveying operations.

Technical proficiency in drone technologies, volume calculations, and measurement control networks.

Advanced knowledge of CAD and GIS-based surveying and mapping software.

High attention to accuracy, time management, data integrity, and KPI tracking.

Strong reporting, stakeholder coordination, and regulatory compliance skills.

Solid understanding of mining legislation and occupational health & safety requirements.
