Job Description


The Head of Technology holds executive responsibility for executing the company’s technology strategy with a strong emphasis on delivery, scalability, and operational excellence. This is an offshore role, primarily focused on hands-on implementation, managing a distributed technical team, and ensuring the successful delivery of digital products and services.

The Head of Technology will be committed to driving results through effective leadership, team enablement, and proactive technical governance, ensuring that all product and infrastructure activities are delivered efficiently, securely, and in alignment with the company’s mission, growth strategy, and performance objectives.


Key Responsibilities


1. Technical Execution & Delivery 1.1 Lead the execution of the company’s technical roadmap, ensuring timely delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performance digital products. 1.2 Oversee infrastructure, system architecture, and technical implementation across all environments. 1.3 Conduct technical audits of existing systems and legacy code to assess risks, identify inefficiencies, and develop remediation plans. 1.4 Identify and deliver quick-win initiatives that generate immediate value, while shaping long-term technical improvements.

2. Team Management 2.1 Manage and mentor a fully remote engineering team, promoting a high-performance, delivery-focused culture. 2.2 Set team objectives, delegate work effectively, and provide continuous feedback and coaching to support growth and accountability. 2.3 Foster team agility and ownership, supporting capability building and succession planning.

3. Security, Compliance & Governance 3.1 Implement and oversee robust cybersecurity protocols, disaster recovery frameworks, and compliance standards. 3.2 Ensure continuous infrastructure monitoring, technical governance, and adherence to industry best practices. 3.3 Establish and maintain risk mitigation strategies and controls to protect systems and data integrity.

4. Planning & KPI Management 4.1 Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives and key results (OKRs) to measure technical team performance and product impact. 4.2 Collaborate with leadership to align delivery milestones with overall business strategy. 4.3 Monitor weekly progress and make data-driven course corrections as needed to maintain execution momentum.

5. Financial & Resource Oversight 5.1 Manage the technical budget, resource planning, and vendor relationships to ensure optimal utilization and cost efficiency. 5.2 Evaluate and select appropriate tools, platforms, and services in line with performance and scalability goals. 5.3 Support operational efficiency through structured cost-saving strategies and strategic resource allocation.

6. Documentation & Knowledge Transfer 6.1 Lead documentation of technical systems, processes, and decisions to ensure operational continuity and reduce knowledge gaps. 6.2 Drive knowledge transfer initiatives and onboarding materials to strengthen team alignment and project handovers.


Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 10-15 years of progressive experience in technology leadership roles, with a proven track record of driving execution and delivering complex technical products.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and managing high-performing, distributed engineering teams in an offshore environment.
  • Strong expertise in technical architecture, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and modern software development practices.
  • Proven ability to plan and deliver scalable technology solutions aligned with strategic business goals.
  • Hands-on experience in system audits, risk assessments, and technical debt remediation.
  • Experience managing technical budgets, resource planning, and vendor relationships effectively.
  • Proficiency in defining and tracking KPIs and OKRs to evaluate technical performance and team alignment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and decision-making capabilities, especially in fast-paced, execution-heavy environments.
