A leading financial services organisation in Bahrain is undergoing a major digital transformation and is seeking an experienced Chief Technology Officer to lead its technology function into its next phase of growth.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the technology direction of a regionally significant, regulated financial services business operating across multiple markets. The successful candidate will take ownership of infrastructure, engineering, and payments technology, driving modernisation, scalability, and innovation across the organisation.

Key Responsbilities:

• Own the technology strategy and roadmap, aligned with the organisation's digital transformation goals
• Lead three core pillars: infrastructure (project, database and CRM management), engineering (software and application development, solution design), and fintech/payments transformation (card management systems and payment processing)
• Drive modernisation of legacy systems, including cloud migration and architecture improvements
• Build, mentor and scale high-performing technology teams across multiple markets
• Ensure technology operations meet regulatory, security and compliance standards across all jurisdictions
• Partner with executive leadership and the board on technology investment decisions
• Champion innovation in digital payments, open banking and emerging fintech capabilities

Experience Required

• Proven experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or senior technology leader within financial services, fintech or payments
• Direct experience with payments technology strongly preferred — card issuing, acquiring, payment processing or digital wallets
• Candidates from broader technology companies with a strong track record delivering payment solutions will also be considered
• Demonstrated success leading digital transformation and platform modernisation at scale
• Experience operating within a regulated financial services environment
• Track record leading multi-disciplinary technology teams across infrastructure, engineering and platform delivery
• Strong executive presence, with experience reporting to CEO or board-level stakeholders
