About the Client: Careers Connect has been retained by a dynamic, fast-growing telecom services and wireless solutions provider to source an executive-level technologist for the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This organization supports high-volume, multi-regional networks and international retail operations, and is looking for a transformative leader to own the complete technology enterprise architecture and long-term innovation strategy.

Position Summary: As the Chief Technology Officer, you will serve as the top executive authority for all software engineering, product architecture, infrastructure, and technology investments. Working directly alongside executive leadership and the Board, you will drive technology innovation, scale cloud and enterprise systems, and align software systems and IT capability with aggressive global expansion.

Key Responsibilities

• Executive Tech Vision & Strategy: Formulate and execute the corporate technology vision, driving architecture choices, software engineering practices, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Platform Architecture & Engineering: Lead software development, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise system integration to ensure high scalability, reliability, and security across all platforms.
• Product & Innovation Roadmap: Collaborate with business leadership to design and deploy custom tech products, automation tooling, and data analytics pipelines that accelerate operational efficiency.
• Information Security & Risk Management: Establish high-standard enterprise risk management, compliance protocols, and cybersecurity frameworks to safeguard business-critical systems and user data.
• Vendor & Tech Budget Oversight: Direct the enterprise IT and engineering budget, managing strategic partnerships with global cloud providers, software vendors, and hardware manufacturers.
• Team Scaling & Mentorship: Build, scale, and mentor a top-tier team of engineering managers, software developers, cloud architects, and sysadmins.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related quantitative field (MBA or executive management credentials highly regarded).
• Experience: Minimum of 12 years in core software engineering and technology management, with at least 5 years in a C-suite or senior Director-level role (e.g., VP of Engineering, CTO, Head of Software). Direct experience in telecom platforms, SaaS, high-scale retail technology, or multi-site systems is strongly preferred.
• Technical Breadth: Deep expertise in modern tech stacks, distributed systems architecture, cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP), microservices, and enterprise software engineering.
• Executive Presence: Outstanding business acumen, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to translate complex technology concepts to board members and business stakeholders.
