Salary Range: $60,000.00-$80,000.00
Essential Job Functions:
- Direct, coordinate, and manage the daily operation, including but not limited to activities related to box office, customer service operations, food and beverage service staff, and administrative staff.
- Engages and collaborates closely with the Luau Chief to seamlessly integrate culturally authentic performances into the Luau production, while actively supporting Luau entertainment, which includes performers, musicians, and team members, to ensure an exceptional experience.
- Plan, organize, and manage the work of subordinate staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements, policies, regulations, and contractual obligations/as prescribed by applicable contract. Implements schedule and policy changes.
- Monitor operations to ensure staff compliance with administrative policies and procedures, safety regulations (e.g., DOT, OSHA/HIOSH), and rules, and applicable government (e.g., DOH) regulations.
- Promote safe work activities by conducting safety audits, attending mandatory company safety training or meetings, and training/monitoring staff to ensure safe practices, including the safe use of vehicles, equipment, and facilities.
- Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with Human Resources and in alignment with company direction.
- Make recommendations to the President / CEO to enhance company product offerings, client requests, and maintain revenue projections.
- Analyze expenditures and other financial information in order to develop plans, policies, and budgets for increasing profits and improving services.
- May participate in the negotiation of contracts with equipment and materials supplies, and monitor contract fulfillment.
- Creates and communicates a long-term vision, balances short- and long-term goals, and keeps the team aligned with overall goals.
- Leverage Technology: embraces technology as a tool to improve the work environment for employees, and ultimately improve the guest experience. Use technology to analyze data and develop solutions to improve operational activities, safety, service, and efficiencies.
- Understands the market and anticipates change, understands the industry and the competition, and creates and adjusts strategic plans.
- Oversees all aspects of the physical infrastructure, from location cleanliness to building & equipment needs.
- Oversees budget management, including labor, benefits, supplies, company assets, capital investments, depreciation, maintenance and repair, and third-party contracts.
- Evaluates fiscal metrics and adjusts activities to meet or exceed performance expectations.
- Strategically adjusts departments’ activities, policies, and practices to meet or exceed key performance metrics and customer satisfaction goals. Actively supports other departments in achieving their goals.
- Champions’ efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures, and assists with the implementation of changes as they pertain to areas of responsibility and the total company.
- Identifies problems and proposes solutions to other members of senior management.
- Conducts audits ensuring all required inspections and documentation are completed accurately (including, but not limited to, food safety documentation, DOT records, EPSM, PSM, etc.) and retained to ensure a minimum potential for loss.
Essential Skills
- BA degree (or equivalent work experience). Equivalent work experience, with a minimum of 5 years of management experience, and Entertainment and/or Hospitality industry experience is highly preferred.
- Must be an excellent communicator, have good listening skills, build strong relationships, be flexible/open-minded, negotiate effectively, solicit performance feedback, and handle constructive criticism.
- Skilled in the use of computers, adapts to new technology, keeps abreast of changes, learns new programs quickly, uses technology to improve productivity
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher), FareHarbor, and other related applications and programs.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a properly insured vehicle
- Ability to manage in-sourced and out-sourced services.
- Knowledge of general finance terminology and concepts, basic accounting principles, and practices.
- Knowledge of luau operations and cultural performances, music, and protocols
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule as needed, 24x7 availability dependent upon business needs, including holidays
- May require travel to various locations and sites
Working Conditions/Job Environment
- Work in an air-conditioned office while also having work responsibilities outdoors at the Luau site.
