Child Care Assistant

I. PURPOSE OF YOUR JOB POSITION

The primary purpose of your job position is to provide the children in your assigned activity area with routine daily activities. These activities are developed in accordance with the established child care and child life procedures and in accordance with the Mission of Rainbow Children’s Medical Day Care and comply with current Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern the facility.

A. Child Care Technician Functions

1. Assist children with daily activities including but not limited to: diaper changes, toileting, dressing, feeding, ambulation and range of motion exercises in accordance with plan of care and after having in—service on such exercises.

2. Track children’s intake and output as required, and record information on flow sheets in an informative and descriptive manner.

3. Participate in playtime, circle time and age appropriate activities.

4. Engage the children in age appropriate activities and be engaged with the children.

5. Report any changes, incidents or accidents to the room nurse immediately.

6. Ensure cleanliness of the facility in accordance with established guidelines.

7. Adhere to all established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.

8. Wear personal protective equipment in accordance with training procedures.

9. Attend all scheduled in-service training sessions as required.

10. Assist with arrival and departure of children, and ensuring all personal items belonging to the children are returned daily.

11. Perform other duties as assigned.

12. Prepare children for meals (i.e. toilet, change diapers, wash hands, apply bibs.

13. Serve food trays. Prepare food according to the needs of the child. Assist with feeding as needed.

14. Report defective equipment to your room nurse.

15. Inform your room nurse of needed equipment and supplies.

16. Cell phones are prohibited in child care areas.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
