Responsibilities
- Support lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and social-emotional learning activities
- Assist with classroom management to promote a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for children of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that encourage exploration, creativity, and critical thinking
- Provide attentive toddler and preschooler care, ensuring their physical needs are met with compassion and professionalism
- Help with classroom organization, including preparing materials for lessons and maintaining a clean learning space
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized assistance as needed
- Foster effective communication with children, parents, and team members to ensure a collaborative approach to early childhood development
Requirements
- Prior experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in early childhood education
- Experience with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Familiarity with curriculum development, including literacy education and foundational math skills
- Ability to work effectively with children who have autism or other disabilities; experience working with children with special needs is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and engage parents positively
- Certification or training in early childhood education, Montessori methods, or special education is preferred but not required
- Passion for nurturing young learners’ growth through engaging lesson planning and hands-on activities
