Job Title: Childcare Center Director

Location: The Center of Early Learning & Childcare LLC, Stewartstown

The Center of Early Learning & Childcare LLC is seeking a passionate, organized, and experienced Childcare Center Director to oversee daily operations and ensure the highest standards of care, safety, and early childhood education for our families. This individual will be responsible for growing and maintaining enrollment, managing staff, maintaining compliance with state regulations, and will create and maintain a positive, nurturing environment for children and staff alike.

Key Responsibilities: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the childcare center. Closely supervise, mentor, and support teaching staff and administrative personnel.

Ensure compliance with all state licensing regulations, health and safety guidelines, and center policies. Maintain enrollment levels by providing excellent customer service to current and prospective families, including conducting tours and handling inquiries. Assist with curriculum development and classroom planning to ensure age-appropriate, engaging learning environments. Ensure appropriate staff to child ratios. Must be willing to be hands on and oversee the onboarding and training of new staff. Manage staffing schedules, approve time off requests, and assist with hiring, onboarding, and staff evaluations. Maintain accurate records, including attendance, incident reports, and licensing documentation. Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional work environment. Communicate regularly with the owner regarding center operations, staffing needs, and parent concerns. Organize and participate in center events, staff meetings, and training sessions.

Qualifications: A director shall have attained one of the following qualification levels: (1) A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 1 year of experience with children. (2) A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 2 years of experience with children. Main St. Stewartstown, PA 17363 (3) An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 3 years of experience with children. (4) An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 4 years of experience with children.

Strong knowledge of state childcare licensing regulations and best practices in early childhood education. Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with the owner, staff, and families. CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

Schedule & Compensation: Approximately 40 hours per week; schedule may vary between opening and closing shifts as needed.
