We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Child Care Specialist – In-Home to provide high-quality, nurturing care directly within families' homes across Fairfield County. Duties
- Deliver attentive, individualized care for children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs
- Implement age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, learning, and social skills
- Ensure safety by maintaining a clean, hazard-free environment and adhering to all safety protocols such as first aid procedures
- Support early childhood education principles through play-based learning and structured routines
- Manage behavior with positive discipline strategies and effective behavior management techniques
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns
- Assist with daily routines including feeding, diapering, nap times, and hygiene practices in line with family preferences
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, nannying, or babysitting roles preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development stages and best practices in early childhood education
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is a plus
- Classroom experience or caregiving background that demonstrates strong management skills
- Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable; ongoing training in child safety is encouraged
- Familiarity with toddler care routines and infant care essentials
- Ability to effectively manage behavior and implement caregiving strategies in diverse settings
