Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Child Care Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and stimulating environment for children, fostering their emotional, social, and cognitive development. This role requires a commitment to providing high-quality care and education to young learners, ensuring their safety and well-being while promoting their growth through engaging activities.

Teachers who work 20 hours per week and live in the State of Kentucky are eligible for FREE childcare through CCAP. We also offer paid holidays after 90 days, and 5 paid vacation days after 1 year of working an average of 35 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote learning and development in accordance with early childhood education standards.
  • Supervise and engage with children in a safe, caring environment, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging them to express themselves and develop social skills.
  • Maintain a clean, organized classroom that is conducive to learning and exploration.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child’s progress and any concerns that may arise.
  • Observe and assess children’s development, documenting progress and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive learning environment that supports all children, including those with special needs or disabilities.
  • Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior in the classroom.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices.
  • Experience working with children in various settings such as daycare, preschool, or as a nanny/babysitter.
  • Knowledge of first aid and CPR is essential; certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with special education practices and working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
  • Excellent classroom management skills to maintain a productive learning environment.
  • Ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and colleagues.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $9.50 - $12.00 per hour
