Child Care Teachers

Northern Hills Child Care is seeking a passionate, confident, and emotionally intelligent teachers. This position is ideal for someone who believes behavior is communication, values connection over control, and is committed to helping children learn how to regulate big emotions in healthy ways.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a classroom with confidence, consistency, and care
• Create and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and daily activities
• Strong focus on social-emotional learning, including teaching coping skills and guiding children through de-escalation
• Support children with big emotions using calm, respectful, and trauma-informed practices
• Build strong, trusting relationships with children and families
• Lead and mentor assistant teachers, modeling best practices and professionalism
• Maintain classroom organization, structure, and positive routines
• Ensure compliance with licensing regulations and quality standards
• Actively support and lead classroom practices to qualify and maintain Step Up to Quality Level 5

Qualifications

• Experience working with children
• Strong teaching skills, especially in social-emotional development and behavior support
• Ability to remain calm, regulated, and supportive during challenging behaviors
• Skilled at teaching children coping strategies and emotional regulation
• Experience writing lesson plans and creating engaging daily activities
• Passion for early childhood education and watching children grow and learn

Pay: $15.00 per hour
