Child Development Specialist / Early Interventionist

At SpeakABLE Speech Therapy Services, we’re passionate about helping children build communication and developmental skills through play, connection, and compassion.We’re expanding our Infant Development Program and seeking dedicated Child Development Specialists to provide early intervention services (ages 0–3) in homes and community settings.

Schedule

  • Start part-time (10 hours/week minimum)
  • Flexible schedule based on your availability and client needs
  • Opportunity to expand to full-time as caseload grows

Service Areas

We see all of our young clients in their homes, daycares, or community settings throughout the East Bay. With SpeakABLE Speech Therapy Services, you’ll be visiting clients closest to where you live and within your preferred driving radius — we do our best to match families to your location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct developmental assessments and provide individualized early intervention services using the Parent Coaching Model
  • Follow and implement each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP)
  • Coach caregivers to build their confidence and implement effective daily routines
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including SLPs, OTs, and program supervisors
  • Educate parents and model intervention strategies through play and natural routines
  • Provide services in the child’s natural environment (home, daycare, or community)
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation including session notes, progress summaries, and reports
  • Collect data and track progress toward IFSP goals
  • Uphold confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and state/federal regulations

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development, Education, Psychology, or related field OR equivalent professional experience
  • Experience with infants and toddlers (0–3) preferred
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance
  • Pass background check, TB test, and provide required immunizations
  • Bilingual (Spanish, Farsi, Tagalog, etc.) a plus!
  • Compassionate, patient, and collaborative approach to family support

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $40.00 - $55.00 per hour
