Job Title:
Child Development Support Assistant (Part-Time, After School and Weekends)

Location:
Near Shaukat Khanum hospital, Johar Town Lahore

Job Type:
Part-time

Salary:
Rs 35,000 to Rs 50,000, dependent on experience and suitability

About the role
We are looking for a kind, energetic, patient, and reliable individual to support a young child with additional developmental needs during after-school hours on weekdays and during the day on weekends.

This is not a routine babysitting role. We are looking for someone who can become a positive, consistent, and engaging part of the child’s home routine, someone who enjoys active play, understands the importance of patience and structure, and is genuinely interested in helping a child develop through meaningful interaction.

The role involves spending quality time with the child through play, movement, outdoor activity, and simple structured engagement. This may include activities such as football, cycling practice, walks, games, and home-based play that supports attention, confidence, interaction, and routine.

This opportunity would suit someone studying, training, or building experience in psychology, special educational needs, speech and language, occupational therapy, ABA, education, childcare, or a related field. It may also suit someone with relevant hands-on experience who has the right personality, energy, and commitment.

Key responsibilities

  • Build a warm, positive, and trusting bond with the child
  • Engage the child in active, purposeful, and enjoyable play after school and at weekends
  • Support activities such as football, cycling, outdoor play, games, and movement-based learning
  • Encourage attention, communication, interaction, turn-taking, and confidence through play
  • Follow parental guidance and home routines consistently
  • Help maintain a calm, safe, and supportive environment
  • Share brief feedback with parents after sessions about activities completed, what worked well, and anything important noticed

Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is:

  • naturally warm, calm, and caring
  • active, playful, and happy to engage hands-on with a child

  • willing to learn, take guidance well, and work consistently with family routines

Preferred background
Preference may be given to candidates who:

  • are studying or have studied psychology, education, SEN, speech and language, occupational therapy, ABA, childcare, or a related area
  • have previous experience working with children, whether in a family, school, nursery, care, SEN, or therapy-related setting
  • are confident supporting play-based learning and physical activity
  • have a long-term interest in this field

Working pattern

  • Weekdays: approximately 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM
  • Weekends: longer daytime hours, to be agreed (10AM to 8:00PM)
  • Some flexibility may be available for the right person

Important

  • This is an active support role, not a passive sitting role
  • We are looking for someone who can become a stable and valued part of the child’s routine
  • References will be required
  • A trial period / paid trial sessions will form part of the recruitment process
  • Enhanced DBS is preferred, or willingness to obtain one
