Child & Family Wellbeing Worker Katherine

TeamHEALTH has become the leading not for profit provider of mental health services in the Top End of the Northern Territory. TeamHEALTH has provided outreach services, support and advocacy for Territorians with mental illness for over 30 years.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver strength-based case management and activities to children, young people and families in line with program guidelines.
  • Provide outreach support to assist in the development and implementation of participant-centred Family Action Plans.
  • Establish referral pathways into and out of the service to reach vulnerable children, young people and families who may not otherwise engage with the mental health or children's service sector.
  • Provide education, training and information to promote awareness of mental health to participants of the program and the community.
  • Support or assist other TeamHEALTH Programs/Regions as needed, which may include outreach support to participants using a psychosocial rehabilitation framework, and may entail overnight or weekly absences and travel to Darwin and other remote communities.
About You / Qualifications
  • Diploma or Certificate level qualification in a relevant health or welfare discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with children, young people and families, including Indigenous and CALD people.
  • Understanding and application of a strength-based approach, with competence in a range of interventions relevant to children and young people.
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with participants, community members and other services.
  • Experience in the delivery of education to young people.
Other requirements
  • Current National Police Certificate, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, Ochre Card, NT Driver's Licence and completion of the NDIS Worker Screening and Orientation Module.
