I. Title: Child Medical Exam Provider

Location: Statesville, NC

Schedule: Part-time or Full-Time

Reports to: Executive Director

Salary: Negotiable dependent on experience

  • Primary Function:

Dove House Children’s Advocacy Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled CME Provider to conduct child-sensitive, forensically sound medical assessments for children and adolescents (birth-18 years) suspected of being abused or maltreated.

The CME Provider collaborates closely with multidisciplinary partners – including law enforcement, DSS, and the NC Division of Social Services – to support investigations, provide expert medical opinions, and ensure that every child received trauma-informed, comprehensive care.

Secondary Function: Represent Dove House at community events; assist with event planning and fundraising for annual events.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Child Medical Evaluations
  • (approx. 70 % of role) – performs 5-7 exams weekly, including preparation, documentation, and participation in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
  • Clinical Documentation & Follow Up (approx. 20 %) – prepare CME reports, review lab and radiology results, and ensure appropriate follow-up care.
  • Additional Responsibilities (approx. 10 %) – attend staff meetings and medical team meetings, provide education, mentor students or residents, and participate in community and professional training events. May be required to testify.

IV. Qualifications:

1. Qualifications:

a. ANCC or AANP Board Certification(required)

b. Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing or equivalent as PA(required)

c. Valid North Carolina Nurse Practitioner and RN Licenses

d. Current/Active DEA Licensure (as needed)

e. Rostered CME Provider through the CMEP Program(if you don’t already have, we can help you obtain)

f. Ongoing CME and licensure maintenance as required.

g. *Minimum 2 years experience in pediatrics

h. Communicate any issues or concerns to ED on a timely basis.

i. Provide back-up for ED as requested, as well as other clinical staff members.

j. Perform other duties, with or without notice, as assigned
