Contribute to our communities by helping the Utah Office of Recovery Services (ORS) in their mission to promote responsibility, by providing child support services and support for children in care to help ensure parents are financially responsible for their children. ORS also helps ensure public funds are used appropriately through the efforts of our Bureau of Medical Collections.

Starting Pay: $20.31

The hourly rate of pay goes up to $21.51 per hour upon successful completion of a one-year probation period!

Responsibilities and Duties
We are looking for hard working, ambitious people to work as an Child Support Caseworker (Compliance Agent I) to:

  • Receive extensive training to learn the interesting process of legally establishing paternity and child support orders, and/or enforcing orders by collecting child support and enforcing other provisions within the order.
  • Verify and/or correct balances owed, determine appropriate legal action including garnishment or liens.
  • Prepare documentation in support of cases presented in court hearings.
  • Conduct research to gather evidence, analyze facts, and apply knowledge of the Office of Recovery Services' rules, regulations, and policies.


Qualifications


  • Proficiency in a technology-driven environment with intermediate to advanced computer skills.
  • Exceptional ability to multi-task and quickly make decisions.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with an ability to assist people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact and professionalism, without prejudice or bias.
  • Ability to effectively contact individuals or organizations to secure delinquent payments, and/or arrange payment plans for money owed.
  • Effectively interpret, clarify, explain and apply agency policy and procedures, business practices, federal or state laws, and regulations.
