This position is a unit manager of a technical Child Support production environment. The manager is responsible for case initiation and case referral to court Prosecuting Attorneys and Friend of the Court Agencies. This position is responsible for coordinating OCS child support program initiatives with PA Offices and FOCs; overseeing and monitoring the quality of service delivery; overseeing the productivity and work quality of staff; ensuring federal and state deadlines and regulations are met, and managing and reporting on unit performance goals using customer interaction technology.

Required Education and Experience

Education

Possession of a bachelor’s degree with at least 30 semester (45 term) credits in one or a combination of the following human service areas: social welfare, social work, sociology, psychology, family ecology, family life education, community services, family and child development, guidance and counseling, criminal justice, gerontology, special education, or education of individuals with exceptionalities.

Experience

Five years of professional experience performing child support activities equivalent to a Child Support Specialist, including three years equivalent to a Child Support Specialist P11, two years equivalent to a Child Support Specialist 12, or one year equivalent to a Child Support Manager 13.

This position is expected to work remotely. Occasional travel to the office located in the Romney building, 111 S. Capitol Ave., Lansing, MI. may be required. Based on operational needs and within established limits, remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered.

Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.

Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely, employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including:
o A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
o A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
o Suitable lighting, furniture, and utilities.
