Primrose School of Aliana is a national leader in accredited early childhood education and care, serving children from infancy through kindergarten, as well as after-school care and summer programs.
We are seeking a highly motivated, growth-minded, and operationally strong School Director to lead all aspects of school operations, including human resources, enrollment growth, retention, customer relations, marketing, educational excellence, financial oversight, compliance, staff development, family engagement and facility management

The ideal candidate leads from the front, maintains high standards, and creates an environment where children, families, and staff thrive, while promoting a positive image of the school within the community.
The School Director is responsible for ensuring the school operates in accordance with Primrose Schools brand standards, Texas Minimum Standards, and all local, state, and federal regulations.
This role requires schedule flexibility and is best suited for someone who enjoys being actively engaged and visible in daily school operations, team leadership, and family engagement - not someone seeking an office-only role or a 9-5 shift. The Director may be required to arrive early, stay late, or support evening/weekend operational needs
Key Responsibilities and Standards of Performance
General
- Maintains a strong visible presence throughout the school
- Leads, coaches, mentors, and develops staff
- Drives enrollment, retention, and community engagement
- Builds strong relationships with families, vendors, licensors, schools, and community partners
- Maintains high standards of professionalism, customer service, safety, and operations
- Ensures high-quality program delivery and classroom consistency
- Manages enrollment, retention, labor, customer satisfaction, and profitability metrics
- Maintains accurate documentation, reporting, and recordkeeping
- Keeps ownership informed of critical student, employee, licensing, and operational matters
- Promotes a positive image of Primrose Schools within the community
- Supports classrooms, operations, and family engagement as needed
- Ensures the school remains tour-ready, licensing-ready, and QA-ready at all times
Operations
- Ensures school's compliance with Texas Minimum Standards, Franchise Schools standards, and all federal, state, and local regulations
- Implements health, safety, supervision, and transportation standards daily
- Conducts classroom walkthroughs, operational checks, and ratio checks regularly
- Ensures teachers follow brand standards, classroom transitions, and documentation procedures
- Maintains organized and current student, employee, licensing, training, health/safety, inspection, incident, medication, transportation, insurance, and drill documentation
- Maintains current emergency contacts and ensures emergency procedures are followed
- Builds strong relationships with licensing authorities, health departments, vendors, and community contacts
- Ensures operational systems are utilized accurately
- Maintains an organized, efficient, and operationally excellent school environment
- Supports transportation responsibilities, including transporting children when needed
Fiscal Responsibilities
- Ensures accurate and timely tuition collection in accordance with company policies
- Maintains financial accountability and protects school assets
- Assists ownership with budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning
- Prepares accurate payroll, accounting, and operational reports by required deadlines
- Creates staffing schedules that balance operational needs, licensing compliance, and labor budgets
- Ensures food and supply orders remain within approved budgets
- Ensures tuition policies are followed and delinquent accounts are addressed proactively
- Maintains accurate tuition, attendance, financial, and operational records
- Maintains documentation and receipts for school expenses and purchases
- Maintains inventory accountability for supplies, materials, and equipment
- Supports profitability through enrollment, retention, and operational efficiency
Enrollment
- Drives enrollment growth and maintains strong school capacity
- Tracks inquiries, tours, enrollments, withdrawals, and follow-ups accurately
- Converts inquiries into tours and tours into enrollments through strong follow-up and relationship-building
- Leads engaging and informative tours with prospective families
- Clearly communicates the school’s curriculum, culture, and value proposition
- Builds strong relationships with current and prospective families through responsive communication, professionalism, and consistent follow-up
- Monitors attendance and enrollment levels closely
- Conducts parent meetings and conferences as appropriate
- Solicits parent feedback regularly to improve the family experience
- Maintains accurate student records and enrollment documentation
- Supports family retention through strong customer experience and program quality
- Reports enrollment trends, withdrawals, and retention concerns to ownership regularly
Educational Program
- Ensures the award-winning curriculum is implemented effectively throughout the school
- Ensures classrooms meet developmental, educational, and state requirements for each age group
- Supports teachers in lesson planning, curriculum implementation, and classroom management
- Conducts classroom observations and provides coaching and feedback
- Ensures teachers are trained on curriculum and early childhood education principles
- Maintains educational quality and consistency across all classrooms
- Supports appropriate classroom transitions and student placements
- Supports Texas Rising Star and Cognia accreditation standards
- Ensures Primrose School's instructional techniques and classroom expectations are consistently utilized
Human Resources
- Understands and adheres to Primrose Schools personnel policies and procedures
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, and retains high-quality staff
- Onboards and trains staff using Primrose Schools' learning tools and operational standards
- Provides coaching, mentoring, and classroom support to ensure employee success
- Anticipates staffing needs and prepares schedules based on enrollment and classroom ratios
- Ensures licensing and operational staffing requirements are met at all times
- Conducts and documents performance evaluations, and addresses employee concerns promptly and professionally
- Maintains professional working relationships with all staff members
- Promotes positive staff morale, accountability, appreciation, and teamwork
- Conducts staff meetings and staff development sessions regularly
- Maintains accurate employee files and training records
- Coordinates CPR, First Aid, emergency preparedness, and compliance training
- Develops future leaders within the school
Customer Service
- Understands and adheres to the Parent Handbook and school policies
- Maintains positive, solution-oriented communication with families and responds promptly and professionally to parent concerns
- Communicates parent concerns effectively with teachers and leadership to resolve issues proactively
- Works to minimize student disenrollment and address contributing factors
- Reports disenrollment trends, parent concerns, and action plans to ownership
- Maintains a warm, welcoming, and professional school environment
- Ensures families receive exceptional customer service and communication consistently
Sales, Marketing & Social Media
- Welcomes all visitors professionally and enthusiastically
- Drives marketing strategies to increase enrollment and community visibility
- Participates in external community outreach initiatives, events, and partnerships
- Leads planning and execution of school marketing, enrollment, and community events
- Maintains an active, engaging and professional school presence on social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Nextdoor, etc.
- Creates, coordinates, and posts school-related content on social media highlighting school culture, classroom activities, events, enrollment campaigns, community engagement initiatives, etc.
- Supports grassroots marketing and community relationship-building efforts
- Maintains a strong reputation and positive public image for the school
- Leads evening or weekend events, tours, and school functions as needed
Physical Facility
- Maintains the building, classrooms, playgrounds, buses, equipment, and grounds to ensure a clean, safe, organized, and professional environment
- Ensures the physical environment meets all licensing and safety requirements
- Conducts regular facility walkthroughs, safety checks, and maintenance inspections
- Coordinates equipment and facility repairs and ensures timely completion
- Ensures bus maintenance, inspections, and repairs are conducted regularly
Health & Safety Requirements
- Ensures compliance with all health, sanitation, safety, and licensing requirements and maintains a clean, safe, and healthy environment
- Maintains strong relationships with licensing representatives and local health authorities
- Oversees accident/incident reporting and medication management procedures
- Conducts and documents monthly emergency and safety drills
- Ensures staff maintain required certifications and compliance training
- Ensures the physical environment remains in full compliance with regulations
Professional Development
- Keeps current with research, trends, and best practices in early childhood education
- Participates in ongoing professional development, conferences, and trainings
- Promotes a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, accountability, and operational excellence among faculty and staff
- Participates in professional organizations and leadership opportunities
Experience & Qualifications
- Holds Texas Director Credential and meets or exceeds state licensing requirements for age, education, and experience
- 5+ years of proven leadership/administration experience as a Center Director operating a licensed childcare center or preschool
- CPR, First Aid certification, and TX Food Handler Certification required
- Associates or Bachelors degree or Certificate in Education, Early Childhood Development, or related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of Texas childcare licensing regulations and operational standards
- Previous experience working in an early education franchise or Primrose Schools is highly preferred
- Strong computer, technology and social media savvy skills, including Microsoft Office, email communication, reporting systems, school management platforms, and digital engagement and communication tools
- Excellent communication, public speaking, customer service, enrollment, retention, and relationship-building skills
- Proven ability to lead teams, drive accountability, meet / exceed revenue targets, and maintain high operational standards
- Strong strategic planning, budgeting, and operational management skills
- Passion for fostering positive learning environments for young children
- Must have good driving record and be qualified to drive company vehicles when needed
- Must be willing and able to work in classrooms as needed to support operations
- Must be able to repeatedly bend, stoop, lift, and carry children up to 50 pounds depending on age and weight
