Childcare Program Lead - Ahwatukee Foothills Family YMCA

RESPONSIBILITIES OF A CHILDCARE PROGRAM LEAD:

  • Coordinates childcare programs to meet the needs of the community and meet Y objectives.
  • Develops and maintains programs in accordance with organizational and operational plans.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with other community organizations.
  • Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules, and directs personnel and volunteers as needed.
  • Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff.
  • Ensure records of staff certifications are current and complete; provide training as needed.
  • Organizes and facilitates age-appropriate activities
  • Supervises and interacts with children at play safely.
  • Market and distribute program information to members and the community at large.
  • Must have M-F availability between the hours of 5:00am-9:00am, other hours may include but are not limited to 12:00/2:00-6:30pm, 6:30am-6:30pm during breaks periods.

REQUIREMENTS TO BE A CHILDCARE PROGRAM LEAD:

  • 21 years of age or older
  • Current state approved first aid certification
  • Current CPR
  • Demonstrated ability to provide childcare
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working with children
  • Knowledge and experience in child watch or babysitting including demonstrated ability to provide age-appropriate activities to children, ages 5 years to 11 years.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with members, staff, peers, volunteers, and supervisor.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information on YMCA programs.
  • Knowledge of staff/volunteer supervision and program management preferred.
