Child Care Provider – JL Butterfly Estates (Youth Program)

JL Butterfly Estates is looking for a resilient, compassionate, and highly skilled Child Care Provider to join our girls' group home. This isn't just a babysitting job; it is a vital mentorship and supervisory role. You will be the backbone of our daily operations, ensuring our youth are supported academically, emotionally, and physically.

Given the nature of our program, we require individuals who can balance a nurturing heart with the firm boundaries and physical stamina necessary to maintain a safe environment.

Position Requirements

* Physical Strength: Must be able to lift and carry at least 90 lbs.

* Safety & Security: Previous de-escalation skills are required. You must be capable of identifying and intervening in fights, arguments, or high-tension situations safely and professionally.

* Background & Compliance: Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check and fingerprinting (No criminal record).

* Transportation: Must have reliable transportation.

* Certifications: Current First Aid and CPR certification required (or must be willing to obtain prior to start date).

Key Duties & Responsibilities

* Academic Support: Actively help residents with homework, school preparation, and provide one-on-one tutoring as needed to ensure educational success.

* Daily Operations: Prepare nutritious meals and manage daily routines (hygiene, chores, and school readiness).

* Supervision & Monitoring: Maintain constant supervision of youth activities to ensure safety and well-being at all times.

* Behavior Management: Apply proven de-escalation techniques and behavior management strategies to foster positive social interactions.

* Documentation: Accurate and timely note-taking is essential. You will document resident progress, behavioral incidents, and daily observations aligned with state and facility standards.

* Environment Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating living environment for the residents.

Skills & Experience

* Childcare Experience: Previous experience in a group home, residential treatment center, daycare, or classroom setting is required.

* De-escalation Expertise: Demonstrated ability to handle crisis situations, stop physical or verbal altercations, and maintain a calm professional demeanor under pressure.

* Developmental Knowledge: Understanding of youth development milestones and the unique needs of children in a group home setting.

* Inclusive Care: Experience working with youth who may have disabilities or specialized behavioral needs is highly valued.

* Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with residents, staff, and guardians regarding progress and concerns.
