We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated caregiver to support the social, physical, and intellectual development of children in our facility. This role involves planning, supervising, and implementing programs aligned with the Center’s goals and philosophy. This role is for 2:30pm - 5:30pm Monday through Friday.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Foster a loving, secure atmosphere for infants and toddlers by providing nurturing care, understanding, and positive guidance to support building self-esteem.
  • Create flexible, well-organized classrooms that adapt to the unique needs of each child, blending structured and unstructured activities throughout the day.
  • Incorporate developmentally appropriate activities alongside opportunities for free play, ensuring a balance that supports exploration and learning.
  • Arrange classrooms to prioritize safety, comfort, and accessibility for young children.
  • Establish consistent daily routines to help infants and toddlers feel secure and confident in their environment.
  • Use art activities to stimulate creativity and connect with themes, books, or classroom events, while encouraging individuality.
  • Assist children with art projects, display their work at their eye level, and celebrate their efforts.
  • Engage infants and toddlers daily with enriching and age-appropriate storytimes to promote language development.
  • Provide daily care reports for each child using the Brightwheel app to keep parents informed.
  • Develop and communicate monthly themes to guide activities and involve parents in the learning process.
  • Coordinate essential care routines such as diapering, feeding, and naps, respecting individual schedules as much as possible in a group setting.
  • Notify the Center Director or Assistant Director immediately in case of injuries, behavioral concerns, or adjustment difficulties.
  • Ensure parents are informed in advance about any planned teacher absences for vacation or leave

Skills:

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
  • Strong ability to interact effectively with children, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to remain calm and understanding in various situations, particularly when addressing children's needs and emotions.
  • Knowledge of techniques for promoting positive behavior and addressing behavioral challenges constructively.
  • Must be outgoing, flexible, and passionate about working with children. The ability to take direction and collaborate with other staff members is essential.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
  • A certification or an associate's degree in early childhood education, social services, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience working with infants to preschool-aged children is preferred.
  • Completion of 15 hours of continuing education per year, along with CPR and First Aid certification, is required (we will help you complete this)
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and TB test.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.81 - $18.81 per hour
