Childcare Teacher; Part-Time, 12 ECD Units Required

Education and Work Experience:

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
• Associate’s/Technical Degree in early childhood education or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• Experience working in a licensed day care center or comparable group child care setting: Preferred

Essential Functions:

• Prepares daily lesson plans according to the curriculum. Conducts classroom curriculum as a group and utilizes time efficiently. Creates age-appropriate activities and art projects.
• Interacts with parents on a daily basis and informs them of their child’s progress. Documents injury and incident forms, takes necessary actions and reports to the supervisor.
• Maintains a safe environment in all surroundings including outdoor play and pool. Maintains classroom in neat, orderly and safe manner throughout the day. Makes daily and periodic bathroom checks, cleaning up any messes and ensuring all soap and paper supplies are adequate.
• Checks roll sheet often throughout the day for accuracy. Checks identification when a child is picked up.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
