Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Lead Teacher to inspire and guide young learners in a vibrant educational environment. As a Lead Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes early childhood development, literacy, math, and social-emotional skills. Your expertise will support individualized learning plans, including IEPs (Individualized Education Programs), and ensure each child's unique needs are met with enthusiasm and professionalism. Duties
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including Montessori or preschool frameworks, that stimulate curiosity and support developmental milestones.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with diverse needs, including those with autism, developmental disabilities, or behavioral health challenges.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavioral management techniques to create a safe and productive learning environment.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools and formative evaluations to monitor progress and inform instruction.
- Collaborate with families, speech therapists, behavioral therapists, and other specialists to develop comprehensive IEPs and support individualized learning goals.
- Lead classroom activities that promote literacy education, numeracy skills, social skills, and emotional regulation.
- Mentor assistant teachers and interns by providing guidance on lesson planning, classroom management, and best practices in early childhood education.
Qualifications
- Proven classroom experience in early childhood education or special education settings, with familiarity in working with children with disabilities or developmental delays.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, behavioral therapy techniques, and literacy/math instruction.
- Experience with speech therapy integration, behavioral health strategies, and working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with children, families, colleagues, and external specialists.
- Ability to develop tailored lesson plans that meet diverse learning needs while adhering to educational standards.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to mentor staff and foster teamwork within the classroom environment.
- Certification or training in special education, behavior management, or early intervention is highly desirable; relevant coursework in library services or Montessori methods is a plus.
