Job Purpose

The Childhood Nutrition Programs Supervisor oversees the daily operations of federally funded programs, including the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). The Supervisor provides leadership and direction to a team of coordinators, ensuring smooth program delivery, compliance with regulations, and maximum reimbursement. This role supports Three Square Food Bank’s mission by ensuring children across Southern Nevada receive meals through effective teamwork, partner collaboration, and process improvement.

Essential Job Functions

  • Program Operations & Compliance
  • Execute day-to-day operations, ensuring alignment with CACFP/SFSP guidelines.
  • Ensure program compliance with Feeding America, Nevada Department of Agriculture, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Conduct periodic internal audits of meal counts and site documentation to ensure full adherence to CACFP and SFSP regulations.
  • Manage onboarding and training of new program sites.
  • Track meal counts to maximize reimbursement and monitor program performance.
  • Digitize program administration for improved efficiency.
  • Maintain inventories, including shelf-stable meals and equipment rentals.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth daily operations and program delivery.

Supervision & Team Development

  • Manage the daily performance of Childhood Nutrition Programs Coordinators, providing coaching and setting performance expectations to ensure smooth program execution.
  • Offer coaching and performance feedback to develop leadership and management skills among coordinators.
  • Maintain open communication with team members, ensuring awareness of updated guidelines and program changes.

Data Integrity & Reporting

  • Collaborate with other departments to prepare internal and external reports, training materials, and website content.
  • Assist with tracking program metrics and reports (i.e., Link2Feed, meal orders, inventories) and ensuring accuracy to prepare reports to support grant administration.
  • Prepare and submit compliance reports required by state and federal agencies in a timely and accurate manner.

Site Management & Customer Service

  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance customer service and client satisfaction.
  • Manage daily partner interactions and address site-specific challenges, escalating major concerns to the manager.
  • Maintain a caseload of Kids Café sites, ensuring program quality and addressing site-specific challenges, as needed.

This position requires working indoors at Three Square’s office or at different agency sites. The employee will frequently use computers and phones and travel regularly for work. Occasional work outside of normal business hours, such as evenings or weekends, may be required. Site visits may involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions.

Requirements:

Abilities

Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for engaging effectively with program partners, children and their families, the general public, and leadership. The role requires the ability to lead in external relationships, present information clearly, and respond thoughtfully to feedback and inquiries.

The Supervisor must efficiently manage multiple priorities, set clear goals, and maintain attention to detail, even in dynamic environments with frequent interruptions. They must work independently in the field with minimal supervision, solving practical problems and navigating situations with limited structure or standardization. Responsiveness to internal and external needs is critical to ensuring smooth operations and timely support.

Qualifications

Experience and Education: At least two years of relevant experience in the nonprofit, public health, or social services sector. Experience in program management, compliance, customer service, or working with external partners is preferred.

Skills

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, including program partners, community members, and leadership.
  • Leadership: Ability to manage teams effectively, set priorities, and solve practical problems independently.
  • Resource Management: Strong time management, multitasking, and attention to detail.
  • Computer Proficiency: Advanced skills in Outlook, spreadsheets, word processing, and database management.
  • Social Skills: Demonstrate cultural humility, conflict resolution skills, and the ability to maintain positive relationships with diverse populations.
  • Language: Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Other: Safe driving record, current vehicle insurance and the ability to use their personal vehicle for business at off-site locations. Employee must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.
