Code Ninjas is the nation’s fastest growing kids coding franchise. In our center, kids ages 5-14 learn to code in a fun way – by playing and building video games!!! Kids have a blast and can’t wait to come back. Parents are thrilled as their children gain confidence and new skills including coding, math, logic, and problem-solving, as they progress from white to black belt.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Sensei to join our team of dynamic, energetic, forward thinking minds. We will all be working toward a common goal: providing a fun and safe learning environment for children ages 5-14 with hands on STEM activities, block/beginer coding, or JavaScript, C#, and Lua Coding. This individual reviews fundamentals and vocabulary with fun activities and games, they provide instruction and oversee different STEM activities biweekly, they assist with child check in and out, as well as lesson discussions for children during their sessions. A Unity development tutor is needed in our center, and will be prioritized for filling this position.

This is continued position, not available for only summer employment.

Responsibilities include:

-Training – go through the curriculum to assist children with each activity

-Create a positive environment in which students can grow

-Work with children to encourage new skill sets in computer science by explaining coding concepts and providing real world examples at their level of understanding.

-Provide feedback to parents after working with students while parents are on a tour

-Clean dojo throughout the day to ensure cleanliness is kept up to standards

-Report Daily to Center Director with respect to the days’ activities and productivity

-Welcome every child into the dojo for sessions, get child set up in their curriculum and review what lesson they are on, in order to start their session.

-Engage and be present with children during their sessions, communicate lesson objectives and create a fun, positive, atmosphere for children in the center.

-Provide a fun trial class for children considering adding Code Ninjas to their schedules

Qualifications:

History with children ages 5 and up (mentoring, coaching, babysitting, tutoring etc.)

-Experience with the general public

-Experience or desire in teaching, mentoring, or coaching

- Works well with others; collaborates

-Knowledgeable about coding and technology; or able to quickly pick up basic concepts

Must like working in fast paced environments where requirements can change frequently

Self-starter with great communication

Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
