Job Summary:

The Chiller Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of central chiller systems including air-cooled and water-cooled chillers. The technician ensures that all systems operate efficiently, safely, and in accordance with local regulations and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and servicing of chillers (screw, reciprocating, centrifugal, or scroll types).
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair faults in chiller plants, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and control systems.
• Conduct performance testing and ensure energy-efficient operation of chiller systems.
• Handle refrigerant charging, leak detection, and recovery processes safely.
• Monitor chilled water systems, cooling towers, and associated pumps and valves.
• Maintain logs of pressure readings, temperature differentials, and operating hours.
• Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, manufacturer guidelines, and UAE regulations.
• Respond promptly to breakdown calls and emergency repairs.
• Coordinate with BMS/Control Technicians where necessary for integrated systems.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized workspace.

Qualifications & Experience:

• ITI / Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or Mechanical Engineering
• 3–5 years of experience specifically in chiller system maintenance (UAE/GCC preferred)
• Strong understanding of air-cooled and water-cooled chillers
• Experience with brands such as Trane, York, Carrier, Daikin, or McQuay is a plus
• Basic knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and BMS integration
• Fluency in reading technical manuals, drawings, and operation schedules
• Basic English communication (Hindi/Urdu/Arabic is a plus)

• Preventive and corrective maintenance procedures
• Use of HVAC tools, vacuum pumps, gauges, and multimeters
• Awareness of HSE policies and refrigerant handling safety
• Record-keeping and reporting skills
