HVAC Air-Cooled Chiller Technician

Job Summary
The HVAC Air-Cooled Chiller Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of air-cooled chiller systems from leading manufacturers including Carrier, York, Trane, SKM, Daikin, Petra, Zamil, and other brands. The role ensures optimal cooling performance, energy efficiency, and full compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on air-cooled chillers
• Troubleshoot compressors, condenser fans, coils, expansion valves, and control systems
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults
• Monitor system pressures, temperatures, and refrigerant levels
• Carry out refrigerant charging, leak detection, and oil checks
• Clean and maintain condenser coils and fan assemblies
• Inspect control panels, sensors, and safety devices
• Support commissioning, testing, and performance optimization
• Respond to breakdowns and emergency call-outs
• Prepare service reports and maintenance records
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Diploma or ITI in HVAC, Mechanical, or Refrigeration Engineering
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with air-cooled chiller systems
• Experience with Carrier, York, Trane, SKM, Daikin, Petra, and Zamil chillers
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles and HVAC systems
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings
• Familiar with refrigerants such as R134a, R410A, R407C, R1234ze
• Good fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physically fit for rooftop and outdoor work

Experience Required
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with air-cooled chillers.

Preferred (Advantage)

• OEM or manufacturer training certificates
• Refrigerant handling license
• BMS or controls knowledge
• UAE driving license
